living a creative life 

Kirsty Macirdy designs embraces the creative arts in many forms. Kirtsy has been designing,  jewellery making and metalsmithing for over 30 years.  She  began selling her jewellery while she was studying her Bachelor of design at Unversity  of South Australia in the early 90's and never looked back,  as it was always her calling to be creative.  

Ever since Kirsty can remember even as a child art and creativity have been in her life, spending days on end quietly drawing. If not drawing Kirsty was making/creating things out of anything,  found objects from the beach or the park or what ever was lying around the house. "Looking back you could say it was one of the ways I sought calm and perspective in my life - a kind of meditation." 

These days painting (mainly in oils) has become a great source of joy in  Kirsty's creative practice..." learning to use oil paints has given me  a new wave of expression that is free and vastly different to metalsmithing and jewllery"... painting  the places and the things she loves reaping inspiration fron her beautiful surroundings of the Barossa Valley to the stunning South Austarlian coast.
